THE IDEA
The smallest boat in Venice, for the biggest question
BELLA carries three people. That is the whole point. You will not be asking in front of a boatful of strangers or over the noise of an engine — you will be sitting low on the water, in a canal narrow enough that the city goes quiet around you.
We cut the engine where you tell us to. From that moment the boat is yours: we stay at the helm, out of the frame, and we do not speak until you look up.
HOW IT WORKS
Planned in advance, invisible on the day
Everything is agreed by message before you arrive, so that on the day you only have to get on the boat.
Tell us the date
Pick a day and a time below. We reply with availability and the light you can expect at that hour — sunset books out first, so ask early.
Choose the spot
We suggest three or four quiet places and you choose one, or you send us a location that already means something to you both.
Leave the details to us
Flowers, a bottle on ice, your song ready on the stereo, a photographer waiting on a bridge. Tell us in advance and it is on board before you are.
A signal, then silence
Agree a word or a gesture with us. When it comes, the engine goes off and we look the other way. Afterwards we take the long way back.
WHERE TO ASK
Three canals, no audience
The famous views are beautiful and full of people. These are the ones we use instead — small enough for BELLA, too small for everyone else.
The inner canals, at dusk
Between Cannaregio and the back of Castello the water goes still and the windows start to light up above you. Nobody passes for minutes at a time.
Open water, at sunset
Out towards the lagoon, with the city behind you and nothing in front. The best light of the day, and the version people photograph most.
After dark, with the lights on
Venice empties out at night. The boat has its own lights and its own stereo, and the canals belong to whoever is still on the water.

And if she says yes
Nobody wants to go straight back to the mooring. The time after the question is the part you will actually remember, so we keep going — slowly, wherever you feel like, until you are ready to step off.
